Version:
Categories

In-App Notifications allow admins and staff members to receive real-time notifications directly inside the Booknetic dashboard. These notifications are designed to provide immediate visibility for important events and offer direct actions, such as opening appointment details or external links.

Notifications are delivered without reloading the page and remain accessible until they are marked as read or cleared.

Where Notifications Appear

Notification Icon

A notification icon is displayed in the top-right corner of the Booknetic dashboard.

  • If there are unread notifications, a red badge indicator appears on the icon.
  • Clicking the icon opens the notification dropdown.

Notification Dropdown

The dropdown displays a list of recent notifications with the following information:

  • Notification type (visual icon and color)
  • Title
  • Message
  • Relative time (e.g. now, 1m, 1h, 1d, 1w)

Notifications are loaded dynamically and do not block or reload the page.

Notification Status & Actions

Read / Unread Behavior

  • Notifications are marked as read automatically when clicked.
  • You can also mark all notifications as read using the option in the dropdown header.
  • Read status is updated instantly in the background.

Infinite Scrolling

The notification list supports infinite scrolling, allowing you to load older notifications seamlessly as you scroll down.

Notification Types

Each notification is assigned a type that defines its visual appearance:

  • Info – General informational messages
  • Success – Positive confirmations or completed actions
  • Warning – Important notices that require attention
  • Danger – Critical or urgent alerts

These visual cues help users quickly understand the priority of a notification.

Click Actions (Interactive Notifications)

In-App Notifications can perform actions when clicked. This behavior is controlled automatically based on the notification configuration.

Appointment Information

When the notification is related to an appointment:

  • Clicking the notification opens the appointment information modal
  • The user remains on the current page (no redirection)
  • This allows quick access to details without interrupting workflow

External or Internal Links

Notifications can also open a link:

  • The link opens in a new browser tab
  • Useful for directing users to related pages, external resources, or system areas

Real-Time Notifications (Toast Alerts)

When a new notification is created:

  • A real-time toast message appears on the screen
  • The toast position can be displayed in a lower corner of the dashboard
  • The notification is simultaneously added to the notification list

This ensures immediate visibility while keeping a persistent record.
