Taxes Settings
The Taxes Module in Booknetic allows businesses to configure and apply taxes to services based on specific rules. Whether your business operates globally or in multiple regions with varying tax laws, this feature helps automate the tax calculation process during bookings and appointments.
Accessing the Taxes Module

Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard
- Open your WordPress Admin Panel and navigate to the Booknetic plugin section.
- The Taxes module will appear in the list of the left side under the name Taxes.
Creating a New Tax Rule

Add a New Tax Rule
- Click the "Add New Tax" button to create a new tax rule.
- Enter the Tax Name and Tax Rate: Provide a descriptive name for your tax (e.g., "VAT", "Sales Tax"), and specify the tax rate (e.g., 19% for VAT or 8% for sales tax).

Choose the Tax Type
- Percentage: This is a standard method where a percentage is applied to the service price.
- Fixed Amount: This allows you to set a fixed value for the tax (e.g., $10 for a service regardless of the service price).

Apply Tax for Specific Services or Locations (Optional)
- Location Filter: Define the geographical location for which this tax applies (e.g., certain countries or regions).
- Service Filter: Select specific services this tax will apply to, or leave it blank to apply to all services.

Incorporate Tax into the Service Price (Optional)
Toggle the option for incorporating the tax into the service price, if needed

Enable or disable the tax (Optional)
Toggle the option for enabling the tax, if needed. When a new tax is added, it is enabled by default.

Save the Tax Rule
After entering all the details, click "Save" to finalize the tax rule. However, if you change your mind and don’t want to add this tax rule, you can click on the “Cancel” button to stop the process.
Managing Existing Tax Rules

Editing a Tax Rule
- To edit an existing tax rule, click the options menu (three dots) next to the tax rule you wish to edit.
- Select "Edit" to make changes.
- Once the changes are made, click "Save" to update the tax rule.

Deleting a Tax Rule
- Click the options menu next to the tax rule you want to delete and select "Delete".
- Confirm the deletion.
- For bulk deletion, select multiple tax rules using the checkboxes, click the "Delete" button, and then click "Apply".
Using Taxes in Booknetic
Once your tax rules are set up, they can be automatically applied during the booking process, either from the admin panel or by customers directly through the booking panel.
Using Taxes while Creating Appointments via the Booking Panel

Go to the Booking Panel
- Navigate to the Booking Panel, and proceed with the booking process.

Apply the Coupon or Tax
- During the appointment confirmation step, any taxes that apply will be displayed and automatically calculated.

Confirm the Appointment
- After the customer confirms their booking, the tax is included in the final amount.
Displaying Taxes on Invoices and Notifications

Invoices
You can automatically include taxes in invoices generated for each appointment. The tax amount will be displayed clearly on the invoice for transparency.

Notifications
Use the keyword {appointment_tax_amount} to show the tax amount in your appointment notification emails, SMS, or WhatsApp messages. This ensures customers are aware of the tax charged on their services.
