Booknetic v6 is here.
This release changes how your customers book. One appointment can now take a whole team or a shared room. Your questions can get booking steps of their own. And customers who just want the first free time get it in one click.
Here is what is new in Booknetic v6:
Multi-staff Resources Booking Step Builder As soon as possible booking Booking without the Date & Time step Multi-staff
Some services need more than one person. A couples massage takes two therapists. A photo shoot takes a photographer and an assistant. Until now, a Booknetic appointment had exactly one staff member.
With the Multi-staff add-on, you set how many staff members a service needs, from 1 to 50. Customers pick that many on the staff step, or choose Any staff and let Booknetic find a free team. A time shows up only when the whole team is free, buffers included. The booking then appears in every team member's calendar and in the mobile app, and your workflows notify each of them.
In the admin panel, you add the extra staff in the appointment form. Leave the field empty and Booknetic picks free staff when you save. If someone you picked is busy, the error message names them.
This is especially helpful for spas with couples treatments and for clinics where a doctor works with a nurse.
See the Multi-staff feature page or the setup guide .
Resources
A spa can have five therapists but only three treatment rooms. When Booknetic checks only the staff, two bookings can end up needing the same room at the same time.
The Resources add-on adds rooms, chairs, tables and equipment to the availability check. You create a resource, set how many units each location has, and tell each service what it needs. A service that needs a room and a laser gets a time only when both are free. Booknetic gives every booking a free unit when it is saved, so customers never have to choose one.
Group services work too. A bike can count once per rider, or a studio once for the whole class.
Does a room need cleaning or a repair? Block its time or switch the unit off. Its upcoming bookings move to another free unit of the same resource.
See the Resources feature page or the setup guide .
Booking Step Builder
Every extra question used to end up in the Information step, next to the customer's name and email. A long health questionnaire or a consent form made that step crowded.
The Booking Step Builder add-on lets you add your own steps to the booking panel. A step has a name, one form built with Custom Forms and a position. Put a health check after Date & Time, or pet details right after the service. When a form applies only to some services, customers booking other services skip the step.
Booknetic also checks the order for you. A form that depends on the staff, or on an answer from another step, has to come after it, and Booknetic tells you when it doesn't.
Answers are saved with the appointment, just like the Information fields. You find them in the appointment details, and the Custom Forms shortcodes work in your workflows as before.
Booking Step Builder needs Custom Forms 3.2 or later. See the Booking Step Builder feature page or the setup guide .
As soon as possible booking
Many customers don't need a particular time. They want the first free one: a haircut today, a quick repair, a call as soon as someone is available.
Turn on the As soon as possible option, and the Date & Time step shows the earliest free time on a card above the calendar. One click books it. Booknetic checks the month again before it books, so a time someone took a moment ago is never booked twice. Customers who want another time still pick it from the calendar.
The card looks for the earliest time in the current month, or in the next month when this one is full. Times that are open only for the waiting list are never picked.
The option is in Settings > Front-end panels > Booking Steps, under Date & Time. It is part of Booknetic itself, so you don't need an add-on for it.
Booking without the Date & Time step
You can go one step further and turn the Date & Time step off. Customers never see a calendar. When they reach that point, Booknetic picks the earliest free time, and the cart and the confirmation show which time it is.
Your availability rules still apply: staff timesheets, breaks, days off, holidays, buffers and existing bookings. This suits walk-in style businesses such as barbershops, repair shops and car washes.
See the As soon as possible feature page or the setup guide .
