WordPress Booking Plugin with Stripe Payments

WordPress Booking Plugin with Stripe Payments

Card payments in Stripe Checkout on the booking confirmation step, with 3D Secure, deposits and status mapping.

Booknetic is a WordPress booking plugin with Stripe payments built in as an add-on: the customer picks a time, chooses "Credit Card" on the confirmation step, and pays in a Stripe Checkout window without leaving your site.

Stripe handles cards, 3D Secure and every major currency; Booknetic handles the booking status, the deposit choice and the receipt.

How Stripe payments work in Booknetic

  • Pay on the confirmation step. The customer sees the total, the deposit if you use one, and the payment methods. Choosing Credit Card opens Stripe Checkout in a popup; a successful payment closes it and completes the booking.
  • 3D Secure without configuration. If the customer's bank requires strong authentication, Stripe shows the challenge inside Checkout. Nothing to set up on your side.
  • Status follows the result. A paid booking gets the status you mapped to successful payments; a failed or abandoned payment gets the status you mapped to failures, so the slot is not held by an unpaid request.
  • Currencies handled correctly. Standard, zero-decimal (JPY, KRW) and three-decimal (BHD, KWD) currencies are converted to Stripe's format automatically.
  • Deposits, coupons and gift cards. Stripe charges whatever the confirmation step calculates: a deposit, a discounted price or the full amount.

Setting it up

  • Create or activate your Stripe account and copy the publishable key and the secret key from the Stripe dashboard. Test keys work for a dry run.
  • Go to Settings > Payments in Booknetic, enable Stripe and paste both keys. Both are required.
  • Map the appointment statuses for successful and failed payments, and decide whether customers may pay the full amount when a deposit is set.
  • Make a test booking with a Stripe test card, then switch to the live keys.

The Stripe documentation walks through account activation and the API keys page. Running a multi-tenant Booknetic SaaS? Stripe Connect lets tenants collect payments on their own accounts while the platform keeps a fee.

Frequently asked questions

Does Booknetic support Stripe payments at booking?

Yes. With the Stripe Payment Gateway add-on the customer pays by card in a Stripe Checkout window on the confirmation step, and the booking is completed when the payment succeeds.

Does it handle 3D Secure and SCA?

Yes. Stripe Checkout runs the 3D Secure challenge when the bank requires it. No extra configuration is needed in Booknetic.

Can I take a deposit through Stripe?

Yes. Set a deposit on the service or globally; Stripe charges the deposit, or the full amount if the customer chooses it, and the rest is paid later.

What happens to a booking if the card payment fails?

The appointment gets the status you mapped to failed payments, so an unpaid attempt does not keep the slot blocked.

Which currencies work?

Every currency Stripe supports. Booknetic converts the amount to Stripe's minor units, including zero-decimal and three-decimal currencies.

Which plans include the Stripe add-on?

Standard, Premium and Elite. On the Basic plan it is a separate purchase.
