Booknetic SaaS gives platform owners full control over how transactions are monetized. With the Flexible Commission System, powered by Stripe Connect, SaaS admins can choose whether to take a commission on tenant payments or allow tenants to process payments directly without fees.
This ensures a flexible, tenant-friendly monetization model that adapts to different business strategies and regions.
How It Works
SaaS Admin Setup
The platform owner activates Stripe Connect in the SaaS Admin panel by entering their publishable key and secret key.
Admins decide whether commissions apply globally, per plan, or are disabled entirely.
Tenant Onboarding
Tenants go to Settings → Payment Settings → Payment Methods → Stripe Connect.
They click Register to connect their Stripe account.
Once verified, they can begin receiving payouts directly.
Two Possible Models
Commission Enabled – Payments are split automatically: a percentage goes to the SaaS admin, and the rest is paid out to the tenant.
Commission Disabled – Tenants connect using their own Stripe API credentials, and 100% of the payment goes directly to them without any fees taken by the SaaS.
Key Features
Commission by Plan
SaaS admins can enable or disable commissions for specific tenant subscription plans.
Example: Premium tenants may keep 100% of earnings, while Basic tenants pay a commission per transaction.
Flexible Commission Rates
Set a global percentage or fee when commissions are active.
Stripe Connect automatically handles the split.
Direct Payments Option
If commissions are disabled, tenants can simply use their own Stripe API credentials and receive full payouts.
Automated Payouts
Stripe manages payouts securely and compliantly, whether commissions are active or not.
Express Dashboard for Tenants
Tenants can track transactions, payouts, and bank account details directly in Stripe’s Express Dashboard.
Benefits
Flexibility for SaaS Owners – Choose whether to monetize through commissions, subscriptions, or both.
Fairness for Tenants – Premium tenants can keep 100% of their revenue if commissions are disabled.
Scalable Model – Works seamlessly across hundreds or thousands of tenants with different plan types.
Transparent Payments – Both admins and tenants can see detailed breakdowns of commissions (when enabled).
Global-Ready – Stripe supports multiple currencies and international payouts.
Example Use Cases
A multi-tier SaaS charges 10% commission for Basic plan tenants but offers zero commission for Premium plan tenants who pay higher subscription fees.
A regional SaaS disables commissions entirely and allows tenants to connect with their own Stripe API keys, keeping all earnings.
A marketplace SaaS enables commission-based payments for all tenants, ensuring the platform earns from every booking.
Why It Matters
Not every SaaS operates under the same business model. Some rely heavily on commissions, while others prioritize flat subscription fees. The Flexible Commission System gives you both options — monetizing through per-transaction commissions when needed, or allowing direct payouts without fees when fairness and tenant trust are more important.
